THE PURE WORD OF GOD
   By Pastor George Mills

“Forever O Lord, Thy Word is settled in Heaven.”(Psa. 119:89).

I love the Bible. I love to study the Bible. I am glad that God gave to us His PERFECT WORD. (KJB).The greatest issue before us today is not Church growth, or more buildings, or greater facilities, or another television ministry, or more education, or dozens of other things that seem to occupy our thinking. The single greatest issue before us today is the issue of the Word of God. I am amazed at the attacks from within the “church” world. Every issue of the WILDERNESS has some kind of a message about the Word of God; that is, The King James Bible. You know, the One that our ancestors used. The Bible that brought us this far. I learned sometime ago that we should ride home in the same wagon that brought us. I want to say to every reader that there is nothing wrong with your Bible (KJB). One of the purposes of this publication since it’s inception back in 1976 is to “Encourage the Believer to study the Word.” Again, there is nothing wrong with your Bible, (KJB). “Every Word of God is PURE. He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him. Add thou not unto His Words, lest He reprove thee and thou be found a liar.” (Pr. 30:5-6) “The Words of the Lord are PURE WORDS, as silver tried in a furnace of earth, PURIFIED seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O Lord, Thou shalt PRESERVE them from this generation for ever. (Psa 12:6-6). I am not a scholar. I make no such claim. I am a student of the Word. As I have said, I love to study the Word. It has always been my desire to know the Word better every day. Our daily attitude should be, “Oh how I love thy Law. It is my meditation all the day.”  (Psa. 119:97). The Psalmist went on to say, “Thou, through Thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies, for they are ever with me.” (v98). It is common, and almost expected today to hear a speaker say, “I believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.” But in just a few more words, he begins to “correct” it. “Now,” He says. ” the Greek, or the Hebrew says so and so, so you cannot trust that verse.”  He will then refer to the “original” or to a book that does not exist. Now, the Bible is either the inspired Word of God, perfect, or, it is not. It cannot be both. It cannot be amixture of truth and error, and claim to be inspired of God. Recently, on a Sunday morning while I was getting ready for Church, I had the TV tuned to a local Church service. The Speaker said, “My message today is on the Inspiration of the Bible.” I thought that it will be so good to hear a message in which the speaker is convinced that the Bible is inspired, and that he will not try to “correct” it. The speaker told of how he was called to preach and then attended a college in Macon, Ga. (Probably Mercer) He went on to say that professors at that particular college told his students not to believe the Bible. The speaker went on to tell how he had then walked through a park and talked with God, and told the Lord that he would hold fast the inspiration of the Bible as he had been taught. All of this is just fine until the speaker began his message and then began to “correct” the Bible as he continued his message. At the close of his message, he advised his hearers to get a copy of the N.I.V. I could not help but think that he had just told his hearers the same thing that the professors at his college had told him years before. Different words, a different time, but with the same meaning. The NIV along with the various “translations” do the same thing as the college professors did. The NIV removes over 60,000 words. These words are not just “thee” and “thou”  but vital words. Today, let us examine and see what the Bible (KJV) has to say about Itself.

1. PURITY “Every Word of God is PURE.”

(A) PURE in It’s ORIGIN. The Bible originated with God. We believe in Divine Inspiration. We believe in Plenary Verbal Inspiration. Plenary, meaning “full” Verbal meaning “Words”  or every word is inspired. We believe that our Bible (KJV) is inspired down to the last letter and is free from all omissions and additions. “That inexplicable power which the Devine Spirit put forth of old in the authors of the Holy Scriptures in order to their guidance, even to the employment of words they used, and to preserve them alike from all error and omission.” (Gausen?s definition) Every word is PURE in It’s ORIGIN. “Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”  (2Pet 1:21)

(B) PURE in It’s ORGANIZATION.

It begins with the beginning, Genesis 1:1, and ends with the ending, Revelation 22:21. And everything between the beginning and the ending is in perfect order, just as God intended. “All Scripture is given by Inspiration of God.” (2Tim. 3:16). Every verse is in the proper order. Every Book, every chapter is placed exactly where it should be. God is a God of organization. There is nothing “hap-hazard” or mixed up, or out of place. As I have said before in this publication, so say I again; “In the beginning, Satan used a serpent in the Garden of Eden to corrupt the Word of God. In these last days, he uses the minds of educated men to do the same thing.” The Bible (KJV) is properly organized, arranged, lettered, numbered, and every word accounted for. Let none be guilty of adding to or taking from it. (Pr. 30:6)

(C) PURE in It’s ORDINANCES. Ordinance meaning, “A Law set forth by authority.” “The Law of the Lord is PERFECT ..” (Psa 19:7)

The CIVIL Ordinances are right
The SOCIAL Ordinances are right.
The MORAL Ordinances are right.
The POLITICAL Ordinances are right.
The SPIRITUAL Ordinances are right.

Man cannot improve, or substitute that which God has ordained. Do you love your Bible? Do you read it? Memorize it? Do you seek to share it with others?

EVERY WORD OF GOD IS PURE.

2. PURIFIED. “As silver tried in a furnace of earth, PURIFIED seven times.” (Psa 12:6). On my journey to Eternity with Christ, my Faith started PURE. The Faith that saved me is imputed Faith. Faith imputed as the result of hearing, and believing what the Word of God (KJB) said about me and my condition as a lost sinner. When I bowed my heart, and believed the message of the Cross and the Resurrection of Christ, God gave me the Faith to receive Christ (Jn 1:12). Imputed Faith is Pure Faith. Now I still have that Faith. That Faith has been tested thousands of times. My Faith has been tried, (1Peter 1:7, 4:12). Our Faith, as Christians started out PURE, and has been PURIFIED with every trial. The Word of God is like that. The Word was PURE when God breathed in the heart of man to write it down. “Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” When God gave His Word to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, Satan was there to corrupt. The PURE WORD was tested, and the PURE WORD was PURIFIED. Every Word spoken by God concerning Adam’s sin was fulfilled. Doubt was in the Garden, and doubt had to bow it’s head. And on and on through history. Millions and millions of attacks against the Word of God (KJV). I cannot even begin to list the men who have spent their energy in destroying the Bible. But the Bible stands TRIUMPHANTLY. And with each test the Bible stands PURIFIED as silver tried in a furnace of earth. EARTH speaks of man, because man is clay. FURNACE speaks of the tests man has placed upon the Word. And the WORD stands PURIFIED! PURIFIED by centuries of testings. PURIFIED! Halleluiah to God!

3. PERFECT. We cannot improve perfection. We can only yield to it. We may try to improve it. We may try to up-date it, or excuse it. But “that which is PERFECT has come.” (1Cor 13:10, Ja. 1:25). I believe that God was in the choice of 54 of the world’s greatest scholars in giving the King James Bible to the English-speaking people of the world in 1611. These men worked tirelessly, and separately, comparing, and comparing again. They had the ancient manuscripts. They had the Received Text, (Textus Recptus). Through the efforts of these men, God gave to the world a PERFECT BIBLE.

Men died in getting the Bible to us. Men whose bones were dug up and burned. Men who were hated because of their work on the Bible. There is just too much for me to try to cover in this small space. And still man tries to improve it. In 1881, WESCOTT and HORT produced a weak Greek New Testament. These men were heretics. Their text is based on two manuscripts, the Vatican, and the Sinai, and not on the Received Text. Since the late 1800’s over 200 translations, versions, para-phrases, based mainly on that text have been on the market for sale. In the last few years, over 40 “versions” are on the market. Weaker versions. And with each version, some things get left out or replaced. Satan will need a “bible”  for the nations during the tribulation period. I believe that he has one with the N.I.V. Why all of this confusion? Over 200 versions on the market. And they are not consistent. God is not in all of this confusion. Today, every “preacher” is a scholar unto himself. In order for him to prove his point, he simply says, “I checked the Greek.”  Just a simple for instance; the pastor was preaching on Assurance. He stated that “the Spirit in us helps with our assurance.” This is correct. He quoted Romans 8:26, “The Spirit itself maketh intercession for us.”  And then he said, “That verse should say, the Spirit “Himself”  and not “Itself”  That’s a bad translation. The Spirit is a Person, He, and not an “it.” For his next point he said, concerning assurance, “And this is the Record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.” (1Jn 5:11) Now he says, “We have the record. We have the Word of God”  In speaking of the Spirit, he says, “that’s a bad translation.”  Now, in just another sentence he says, “We have the Record. We have the Bible. The Bible is our assurance.”Now if the Bible is faulty in one place, could it not be faulty in other places? Just for the record, The King James Bible correctly translates, “the Spirit Itself.” The word for spirit is “pneuma”  which is air, or wind, neither male nor female. The Holy Spirit is compared to the wind in John 3. On and on this goes. Let us stop trying to IMPROVE the Bible. Let us just believe it, Love it, preach it, and teach it. Let us all just take a few moments and see what is happening in the religious world. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR BIBLE, (KJV).

4. PRESERVED. “Thou shalt PRESERVE them from this generation for ever.”  (Ps 12:7). Today, I think of the many efforts of men to destroy the Word of God only to find that the Word is alive, and Powerful. The enemies of the Bible have passed off the scene, and will pass off the scene, but the Bible (KJB) will endure the endless ages. I know that there are those who say that it is time for the church to come up to date.  “We must adapt to this new age. There is a new morality, a new style, new music (?) This is the “casual age”   We have new doctrines, new movements today. Vast crowds are being attracted. But Crowds do not mean re-creation, and rattles do not mean revival. There has been no revival since these “Bibles” have hit our pulpits. This Ministry is dedicated to the Cause of Christ in evangelizing as much of the world as we can, and at the same time maintaining our stand, or position on separation from apostate religion, movements, books, headquarters, or anything that is opposed to sound Biblical Doctrine. Sometimes, in the fast moving times we are living in, it seems that these new things, Bibles, etc, are simply taking over, and those of us who stand for the Old Time Truth are just wasting our time. But, I believe that the Bible(KJV) stands, and will stand every test and will remain the MONARCH OF BOOKS. Do you personally know the Christ of the Bible? I hope that you do. If you cannot say yes, I trust that you will understand that Christ died for you, that He was buried, and that He arose from the dead to be your living Saviour. He will come into your heart, if you invite Him in., The Bible says, “But as many as received Him, to them gave He the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name.”  “Ask, and ye shall receive.” You can begin TODAY to live FOREVER!

THANK GOD TODAY FOR HIS PURE, PURIFIED, PERFECT, AND PRESERVED WORD. Here at the WILDERNESS  our only Textbook is the King James Bible. It is our source, our supply and our strength.

<><><><><><><><><><><><>

AND THE WORLD IS A WILDERNESS… It is no friend to the Christian, and it is no friend to your Bible. Today the Bible (KJB) is mocked, scoffed, and scorned. But it is also Tried, Tested, and True. I’ll settle for the latter.

<><><><><><><><><><><><>

THINK ABOUT IT..If the Bible needs to be corrected in one place, if the Bible is faulty here, or there, doesn’t that mean that it could be faulty everywhere?

And if faulty, what’s the use? Christianity is no better than any other religion. If there is fault with the Written Word, could there be fault concerning the Living Word? God Forbid! “Forever O Lord, Thy Word is settled in Heaven.” (Too bad it can?t be settled down here).

<><><><><><><><><><><><>

THINK ABOUT IT…Recently, a group of Native Africans in Nigeria asked us if we could help them by sending them some Bibles. They did not care about the condition of the Bibles, whether new, or old, but they did ask for the King James Bible. I wonder how a group of people in such a remote part of the world knew about the King James Bible? That Book gets around, and around, etc. Of course, we were happy and privileged to send them a case of the KING JAMES BIBLE!

MY BIBLE

(KJB)

By Pastor George Mills

“The Words of the Lord are Pure Words, as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.” (Psa 12:6)

I believe that the Bible is a gift of God,

And that every word in it is pure.

Although many may hate it,

And others debate it,

It is Truth that will ever endure.

Refined more than silver, of more value than gold,

More Treasure than man can afford.

Though often tried,

And daily denied,

It’s Treasure is Christ, the Lord.

It’s Words are inspired, each one is true,

No error, or fault can one find.

To trust and obey,

It’s Commandments each day,

Will give one real peace of mind.

It told me of Christ, and His great love for me,

     No other book can compare.

It tells of salvation,

For each generation,

It tells of a Heaven to share.

So I’ll stay with the Bible, God’s Book Divine,

The Book that tells of Christ’s Love.

It seeks to refine,

 And a new life design,

‘ Til at last I’m in Heaven above.

<><><><><><><><><><><><>

“The Law of Thy mouth is better than thousands of Gold and silver.” (Psa 119:72)

<><><><><><><><><><><><>

AND THE WORLD IS A WILDERNESS..it is no friend to the Christian, nor to his Bible. Here at the WILDERNESS, we are not defending the Bible (KJB) for it needs no defense. It stands on It’s own. We are just proclaiming, “Thus saith The Lord.”

THE APPEARING OF CHRIST IN THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH.

By Pastor George Mills

“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be but know that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself even as He is pure.” (1Jn 3:2-3)

1. THE ASSURANCE. The very first thing for each of us is to nail down,

THE ASSURANCE OF SALVATION. I trust that you will take time and read the five chapters of First John. John says, “NOW are we the sons of God.”  Sons of God By faith in Jesus Christ. Sons of Adam by our first birth, Sons of God by the New Birth, (John 3:1-8). If you have received Christ, if you have believed the message about His sacrifice on the Cross for your sin, If you have asked Him into your heart, God wants you to have full assurance concerning your Salvation. “These things have I written unto you that believe on the Name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life.”  (1Jn 5:12-13). Whether we live, or die, we will ever be with our Lord. (1Thess 4:13-18).

2. THE APPEARING. “He shall appear.” “He SHALL appear.” Christ is coming for His own. What a “Blessed Hope.” The Bible speaks about three appearings of Christ.

(A) HE APPEARED. Heb. 9:26, “But now once in the end of the world He APPEARED to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. The one reason He came some 2000 years ago was to offer Himself as the only sacrifice for sin. “For by ONE offering He hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.” (Heb 10:14). “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the Eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God.”  (Heb 9:14) “Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world.”  (Jn 1:29). He appeared in the Past to take away the sin of the world by His finished work on the Cross.

(B) HE APPEARS.  “…But into Heaven itself now to appear in the presence of God for us.” (Heb 9:24) He appears before God for us today. He is our Eternal High Priest. He is our Advocate, (1Jn 2:1). He has been on the job for a long time. We need no priest down here. I am happy to report that Christ has never lost a case. He will present every Born Again believer faultless before the presence of His glory. The Bible says, “Let us lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Heb 12:1-2).

(C) HE SHALL APPEAR. He APPEARED to take away sin. He APPEARS in the Presence of God as our Eternal High Priest, and He shall APPEAR. “So Christ was ONCE offered to bear the sins of many, and unto them that look for Him SHALL HE APPEAR the second time without sin unto Salvation.”  (Heb 9:28). Our text in 1John 3:2 says “When He SHALL APPEAR.”  At this appearing, He appears in the air for the rapture, or catching away of the Church. (1Thess 4:13-18). This is NOT His second coming, when He returns to earth to destroy the anti-Christ and establish His Kingdom. Christ will appear in the atmosphere above earth and call His Church, (Born again believers) home. I believe that this could happen at any moment. There are no signs to watch for, He simply said, Be ready. I believe in the eminent return of Christ in the Rapture. He could come at any time. At His appearing in the Rapture, we shall be suddenly changed and caught up to be with Him. “WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM, FOR WE SHALL SEE HIM AS HE IS.”

(a) LIKE HIM physically. “He shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto His Glorious body. “See Phil. 3:20-21.

(b)LIKE HIM in Love. “Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us.” One day, when we see Him, we will be able to love as He loves. He loved us when we were enemies (Ro 5:10) It will be wonderful when the veil is lifted, sin is left behind, and we will know perfect love, Love for Christ, love for one another.

(c) LIKE HIM in knowledge. We know in part, but one day we will know, even as we are known. We will have cognition, and recognition. We will be like Him. “I shall be satisfied when I awake with Thy likeness.” (Ps 17:15)

3. THE APPEAL. There is a two-fold appeal.

(A) The appeal for preparation. 1John 2:28 says, “And now little children ABIDE in Him, that when He shall APPEAR we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.”  ABIDE, means to remain, to be stable, to continue in a place. Keep the fellowship unbroken. Don’t be guilty of doing things that would bring shame. We do not know the day or hour of His coming. We should live every day in the light of His coming.

(b) The appeal for purification. “Every man that hath this hope purifieth himself.”  Nothing will purify the believer, and keep the believer clean and pure like the hope of the coming of Christ. “For the Grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men. TEACHING us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and Godly in this present world. Looking for that blessed hope and glorious APPEARING of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” (Titus 2:11-13)

Soon, and very soon, there is going to be a wedding in the sky. Jesus will receive His Bride, the Church. Let us keep ourselves pure for that wonderful wedding. Do not allow the glitter and glamour and excitement of this passing world steal our affection. Let us be busy in His service. Let us look, and pray for His coming. Our daily prayer should be, “even so, come Lord Jesus.”

Before I close, I must ask you, are YOU ready for His coming? You are ready if you have received Him into your heart as your Saviour. If this is not true for you, consider this; He died on Calvary’s Cross for YOUR sin. He paid your debt. He wants you to trust Him. He is there, wherever you are in the person of the Holy Spirit. He will come into your life at your invitation. He will not come in unbidden. This is a decision that YOU must make. Do that today. The Bible says, “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name. Tell Him now that you receive Him. Begin TODAY to live FOREVER!

THE FIRE WENT OUT, WHY?

The Church at Thessalonica was a good Church, an exemplary Church. They were evangelizing their world. Their faith was known abroad. (1Thess 1:8). But something happened. When you read Second Thessalonians, you will see a dramatic change. No more fires of evangelism. What went wrong. Evidently, from the text, someone wrote a letter to the Church and signed Paul’s name to the letter. Paul writes to the Church and says, “That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter AS FROM US that the day of Christ is at hand.” (2Thess 2:2) “A letter AS FROM US”  We did not write such a letter. Someone lied to the Church and told them that they were going through the Great Tribulation period, and a great work was stifled. THE FIRE WENT OUT. Nothing will keep the fervency of evangelism like the hope of the eminent return of Christ .”For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God. And to wait for His Son from Heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”

(1Thess 1:9-10)
